Great video! I’ve hiked Alum Cave Bluff Trail to the lodges 4 times (my wife has done it 3 times). Most recent was September of last year on a rainy day (enjoyable hike nonetheless). Thank you for posting this video and for hitting all the off shoots (I haven’t seen most of them but now I must on the next trek up there). Very informative. Side note: a lot of those steps were not there the first time I hiked it in the early 2000’s.

Hi! Been looking at the Etrex 32 as an affordable but accurat GPS. However, I need the "out of course/off course" function down to peferely single meters. You know, I wanna follow a straight line thrue the woods and I want to know if I´m drifting left or right of that line down to a few meters. I havent been able to see if the Etrex 32 gives me that function. Can anyone confirm? I´ve seen that funktion on one garmin but it seemed like the closest messurment was "quarter of a kilometer"... I need much more accuracy.

Dude. I found your website yesterday when trying to understand about GPS (nav, watches, satellite, and PLB) devices. I read several articles on the website and today I'm watching numerous videos. I'm blown away by the thoroughness of your reviews. I've never owned GPS navigation, watch, satellite or PLB communicator devices (other than Google Maps and testing out GaiaGPS over the last week)... so you helped me go from zero knowledge to quite a lot of knowledge very very quickly. What an immense help. I feel like I know exactly what to expect if I were to purchase a given device (pros & cons). This has rapidly helped me narrow down what I thought I might want to more appropriate choices. Big time props and THANK YOU so much for putting all of this information together to help others.

I hate amoled screens on watches. As a current vivoactive 4s user, I find it sad that the vivoactive 5 has gone the amoled route. Would have been nice if Garmin kept the MIP screen on it for people who want it and they have the option of the Venu for amoled screens. I like the features of the Fenix and will definitely consider it for a future upgrade, provided it keeps the MIP screen.

You say that the messages 'fail' what is the user experience like when that happens? Will the units just continue to send ad nauseum, or will they report back when they give up? If transmitting takes time, will they update the location data, or can you risk that by the time your message is forwarded, that you are someplace else - 45 minutes later? Personally I have just invested in a used 66i but I suppose these are relevant questions for other viewers with other units also.

Yes one problem they don't have voice put with this and in a really emergencies sometimes voice is king. They should have that you can call with voice like a regular phone like a regular cell phone. You can use your voice the satellite phone once you turn into a satellite phone. You should also be able to call with voice. That's given up for 2025 and above.
